How editions will be made and labeled when the library opens.
Two editions
We do not call anything the “true translation.” Every translation involves judgment. Each completed work is planned as:
Source-faithful translation. Preserve substance, sequence, ambiguity, names, numbers, and rhetoric. Change only what modern English grammar and readability require. Do not silently correct, sanitize, abridge, or embellish. State the manuscript or printed base clearly.
Reader’s edition. Based on the source-faithful text—not a second independent translation. Syntax and paragraphing may be revised for continuous reading. No events, claims, or offensive terminology added, removed, or softened for present-day sensibilities. No invented dialogue.

Open licensing
Published volumes will use CC BY 4.0, with a standard colophon (title, source citation, credit, method note, version, date, URL).
Independence
Where an earlier English translation exists, the Open Chronicles source-faithful text is prepared from the Latin first. Any comparison is post hoc and documented—not used as a silent source text.
